Indeed, they are responding to electromagnetic fields coming from under the water thus they fly as the Aurora Borealis moves.

i thought the music fit perfectly

Amazing video! I always knew Ireland had more than castles, cliffs, and sheep!
  • Bob Niemic 3 months ago
The music is beautiful, appropriate &, as Craig says, "fit[s] perfectly". Otherwise, I agree with pareddy's comment. Thanks to Sophie Windsor Clive for posting, Liberty Smith for amazingly steady camera work in the canoe, Nomad Soul for the beautiful music, Ireland for being such a beautiful country, & the starlings for showing off their phenomenal talents.

really nice. especially the way the video starts after the still. my comment is again about the music which is lovely. ahh i see...soundcloud.com/nomad-soul-collective but this doesn't seem to have the track used in the video. any chance you can post it to soundcloud?
  • Ingra Skreba 3 months ago

This is a wonderful vid, and congrats on your experience, but could you please-please-please post a version without the music? I think it's unnecessary, and I really want to hear the sounds the birds make as they swoop above you.

    Thanks!
  • Ramashang 3 months ago
The sound is clipped (distorted) because they're using a low budget camera without in high wind - thus the music.
  • M H 3 months ago
    Reasonable. Thanks for the reply.

Amazing video, although imho the music is a bit overstated and overpowering, competing too much with the power of the video and natural sound
  • cari-jane hakes 3 months ago
music is personal - you can't please all the people all the time...I think if there was no music you would just hear the wind, not the birds, so the music is a good way of dulling that distraction. I'm not sure the buffeting sound of wind would have made the film so powerful. That said, if you don't like the music....whack on the mute and watch it in silence! Job done :)
