This 3-1/2 minute video roll-in will open the coming 2012 film, DIALOGUE IN NIGERIA. It documents 200 young Muslims and Christians during several days of successful, in-depth, eye-to-eye communication. They discovered their equal, shared humanity and that "an enemy is one whose story we have not heard." This 2nd International Conference on Youth and Interfaith Communication was October 22-24, 2010 in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria.
"Building Bridges Through Interfaith Dialogue and Youth Participation" was the theme for the brave, diverse young women and men in face-to-face workshops that provided tools for successful communication across old lines of fear and separation. It was initiated by the NEW ERA EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE SUPPORT FOUNDATION of Jos, Nigeria, with facilitation by travelers from the co-sponsor 18-year-old JEWISH-PALESTINIAN LIVING ROOM DIALOGUE GROUP of San Mateo, California, USA. The African young adults returned home with new tools of Dialogue and it new quality of listening-to-learn. The hope was to unleash unprecedented cooperation and creativity needed to build successful, sustainable families, communities, and nations.
