Shot in Nisene Marks State Park and my back yard.

Canon 5D mk II, 50mm 1.4, 17-40mm 4.0, 24-105 4.0.

I was using a smaller Manfrotto tripod and tiny video head. It's easier to pack up and go but it doesn't make for smooth moves like my Sachtler. I can also see the need for a decent follow focus (and an AC!) if I were to take this whole thing seriously.

Edited in FCP in ProRes. 3 way CC was used to warm things up a bit.

The music is David Sylvian's Sunlight Seen Through Towering Trees.

Beautiful relaxing peice, made me want to go and relax in the trees.

What lenses were used in the 3 shots from 0:46-1:10 ?

am trying to spot the 50mm...

    again really nicely shot...

Thank you! Most of it was shot with the 50 except for the wide angle shots at the beginning and end, those were the 17-40.

    It's the Canon EF 50mm F 1.4. I really love that lens.

Ahh, I thought so - love the blown highlights / bokeh from it, its by far the best value + performance ratio without taking the huge 50mm F 1.2 plunge... (as lovely as that would be!) just read this review the other day as well..

be sure to keep the 5D footage coming (esp with the 50mm!) :)

I was JUST reading that exact same article. For the money I just don't think you can beat the 1.4. The 1.2 seems way too expensive for what you get.

And I agree, the bokeh is my favorite thing with that lens. Coming from shooting 1/2" and 1/3" chip video cameras to having that DOF on the 5d mkII is amazing.
