As a hobby project of sorts I'm extending the hair dynamics solver I wrote for "TRON Legacy" to also handle softbody dynamics of arbitrary tet meshes. This is a very early test showing a softbody sphere affected by gravity and interacting with a couple of kinematic bodies.

The solver was written from scratch by yours truly and is exposed to artists as a Maya plugin. Internally, it uses a Newmark integrator to evolve the tet meshes in time, while the collision detection and response code is based on the work of Robert Bridson et al. (cs.ubc.ca/~rbridson/docs/cloth2002.pdf) as well as Andrew Selle et al. (physbam.stanford.edu/~aselle/papers/8/).

I'm still working on extracting the results of the simulation back into Maya, and once that's fully working I'm hoping to get a little bit more creative with this...
