My brother Jacob Davis performed his senior recital at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. He is a percussionist. My other brother Andrew Davis was there with our mother Linda, and their father (my step-father) Trevor. About one week before this performance, Andrew announced he will be leaving Iowa for Colorado soon. It occurred to me this may be the last time the four of us are with each other at the same time for awhile. The slow harmonic beauty of the piece Jacob is playing reinforced the delicate emotions certainly all us are now feeling as Andrew is about to move far away from his family.
