»Der Flieger« is about a sheet of paper which is thrown away by a writer who has no idea what to write about. The only two words he had written on it were »Der Flieger« (which has two meanings in German: »The Airman« or »The Paper Plane«). Inspired by this the sheet of paper awakes to life and wants to learn to fly …

We shot 6000 still photos for the stop motion animated sequences.

Written and directed by us two. The score was written and recorded by me. Its main theme was inspired by a piece of Arvo Pärt, which we used for our animatic.

Im zweiten Semester am FB Design der FH Münster entstand 2003 der erste gemeinsame Film von Christoph Mett und mir. Die Semesterarbeit sollte sich mit dem Thema »Papier« auseinandersetzen.

»Der Flieger« erzählt die Geschichte eines weggeworfenen Blattes Papier, das sich nichts sehnlicher wünscht, als ein Flieger zu werden. Wir begleiten es auf seiner kleinen Odyssee bis zur Erfüllung seines Traums. Bei der Produktion der Stop Motion-Sequenzen schossen wir ca. 6000 Fotos.
