I have known Erin and her family basically my whole life. As you can see, they have a tight family bond and the addition of Garrett to the mix just makes them that much happier.
We had a great time shooting this piece during a fantastically beautiful autumn weekend in Arkansas. I spent all day Friday at Hidden Valley Farms, just west of Little Rock (Brides, seriously. Check them out. They host weddings on their expansive acreage, amongst blueberry vineyards, a lake and a stunning stable) getting ready for the interviews and filming b-roll of Erin and Garrett.
It was then on to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner where we really witnessed a great outpouring of love for the couple through toasts which you will see in the film.
Saturday was a beautiful day and other than a football game that kept all of us Arkansans on our toes, I don't think there was a single stressed out moment amongst the whole group. Everyone seemed to really soak up the day.
Finally, the reception. I really had no idea these guys could party like that. Unbelievable is all I can say.
I really want to thank my wife for suggesting "Come fly with me" for one of the songs. It just works perfectly. Also, I finally had a chance to use "Fill her up" by Sting. I've wanted to use that song in a video for a long time. It just gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
To Erin and Garrett- I know you are leaving today for Japan, in what will be an incredible adventure for you both. Best of luck to you in your life together and thanks for letting me be a part of the beginning. Stay safe.
Peace, Love, Sushi,
Patrick
