This piece was built in Adobe After Effects and Photoshop. The scratchy type treatment was a result of hand drawing each layer three times (used the Wacom tablet). In AE, I set a script to randomly choose one of the three layers to be visible while hiding the other two.

Another fun thing to note, each of the photo frames is actually comprised of three unique layers (the frame, the image, and the paper flashing) and a total of 12 different filters were used to simulate the tearing of paper.
