Grade 5 and up, really? Maybe it had to do with attending grade school in Oregon, but we played the Trail every damn day from first grade on!

Next you guys should get NUMBER MUNCHERS!
  • Soxiam 10 months ago
you know, i think someone actually mentioned number munchers as his favorite the day this video was shot.

Oregon Trail, Number Munchers, Autobahn, Lemonade Stand and a million more!

It's kind of touchy, (true to form) but still awesome.

I'm from Oregon. Love playing that game, also love old games like it, Pharaoh's Tomb, Stunt Driver, California Raisins.

I remember this game so well. I am from Oregon and it never occurred to me, well until college, that people outside and all over played it too! I think I learned the word skeptical from this game. When the indians were skpetical you had to escape them. On another, related note, I got the opportunity to play Odell Lake recently. Things inspired by Oregon own.
  • Soxiam 10 months ago
ha. i wonder what other words they considered before deciding on "skeptical"
  • MiroMainhattan 10 months ago
Perhaps "well-informed", but considering what kids are learning in school about early american history, they probably figured nobody would be able to make the connection...

Oh my god that has to be one of my favorite videos That was one of the best vids I've seen in modern times! I used to play that game in school. There was a sign-up sheet and during certain times of the day we went into the hallway and played for 15minute increments. That game rocked my world, but what rocked it even harder was "Hunt The Wumpus"!

I loved playing Oregon Trail in school. Sadly I don't think I ever made it to the end. My wagon always ended up breaking an axle or sinking while crossing a river.
Do you guys have Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?

When we moved out here to Portland we used Oregon Trail to decide who got the larger bed room. We were just as excited. On a modern computer I died less than ten seconds into the game and got the smallest bedroom I've ever had.
