Violence is an unfortunate part of this world - especially in Mexico w/ the drug wars. Turning a blind eye to it is not a solution IMO.

Very well shot. Great work. I wonder how the C300 will stack up against the 4K full frame 35mm Canon DSLR they just revealed? eoshd.com/content/5147/canon-announce-35mm-full-frame-4k-dslr
  • Sebastian TR 3 months ago
Agreed- wonderfully shot and a really nice short. The 4K FF DSLR is definitely of interest, I assume they will intercut well :)
  • Vincent Laforet pro 3 months ago
No details on the 4K sensor.. I think it was Canon's way to react to Scarlet's announcement on the same day... a quiet little nudge...

Great Film. However I have seen work with the 5D that looks just as good as these images. I just cant see 20K. This just proves how well the 5D is and why it shook the industry, because of the image it produces compared to the price! Just saying. But great film..loved it.
  • Vincent Laforet pro 3 months ago
When you see side by side tests you'll see that isn't the case.
  • John Urban 3 months ago
Yes, but when a layperson is watching a "story," will he or she notice?

  • Andreas Climent 3 months ago
I don't care what camera this was shot with, the short kicks ass. Great story and direction, really liked the concept!
  • Vincent Laforet pro 3 months ago
    Agree ;)
  • smspctr 3 months ago
Are you fucking kidding me? The concept was bullshit times infinity ∞ LOL ∞

Everything about this regurgitated story was complete shit from the characters to the plot. On top of that, it featured probably one of the most blasé car chase finales ever filmed. I can't believe I sat through the entire thing, especially after realizing the MINDTWISTING ending before it was over.

Great production. Looks like you all tried really hard to make it look "nice" and you definitely succeeded. Bravo!
  • Vincent Laforet pro 3 months ago
Your opinion means about as much as the total number of videos on your Vimeo page = Zero. You can insult me - I'll take it. But don't insult my team. Go get a life and make a movie / short whatever and contribute something to this community.
  • Nacho Elola 3 months ago
I do not support this agressive comment from smspctr, but i think he has a point, the visual is awesome, the sound is great, the camera and editing too. But the structure of the story lacks of balls, specially the ending. Don´t be afraid of trying different endings, and im not being cocky or anything, in fact im just a recently graduated film student. Its just constructive criticism...
  • Doug Thompson plus 3 months ago
Sorry to see the discussion descend into the kind of name calling that you see too often on YouTube. One of the reasons I prefer Vimeo is the professional level of discussion normally found here.

Vincent, I liked Mobius...a lot. Good filmmaking, excellent editing and a good story. Yes, we've seen versions of it before but so what. It was well told and artfully presented.

From what it's worth, this silver-haired shooter was impressed. Your work with the 5D MKII convinced me to try DSLR filmmaking several years ago and I go back to 16mm Bolex days.

    Good job.
  • Brandon Elbers 2 months ago
Hahaha. Vincent knows that is doesn't matter what people say. He's the one who is successful and has the C300 in his hands. It was very well done. I hope to be as good at cinematography as you one day.
