On October 26, 2011 a demolition crew blasted a hole in Condit Dam and set the White Salmon River free. Hundreds of people gathered to celebrate this special day in Husum as the stagnant muck filled Northwestern Lake drained through the hole in 120 foot Condit.
I ran the river early that morning before the explosion and joined the party.
Looking forward to running the new stretch of whitewater next summer!
