My tech reel includes 2 useful tools that can significantly help any Maya user during production.
1. RetopoG - My own personal script for faster re-topology in Maya. The goal is to create a fast re-topo tool, that can be done right inside Maya, doesn't require a plug-in, and works with the Maya interface, uninterrupted.
2. Motion Trail Manager - a tool that both improves Maya's existing animation tools as well as invents new ways to change how we animate. First, it addresses several issues with Maya 2012's Editable Motion trails to make the workflow easier and improve performance. Second, it introduces a brand new way to animate in 3D, called Interactive Ghost Trails.
Interactive Ghost Trails allow the animator to visualize the animation and easily jump to a pose to edit. They help bridge the gap between classical animation with 3D Digital, giving computer animators viewing and organizational tools that would otherwise be exclusive to light tables and different colored pencils.
