This was a very unique piece of film production, planning and managing the capture of Justin Bieber switching on the Christmas lights at both Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City in one night. Remote cameras, three jibs and roaming cameramen were positioned to capture each element of the journey for the star including when he was helicoptered between the two sites and a rooftop camera to capture the fireworks from the perfect vantage point. The helicopter landing in front of giant space flower lighting effects was relayed live to the awaiting crowd the build excitement. For this show, nothing was left to chance with an on board HD recorder on the wireless camera, tasked with close ups on the helicopter landing site, capturing the footage onto solid state media in case the wireless was interrupted.
Live aerial cameras switched direction to capture elements of the show and two Jibs that captured the crowd brought those in the overflow areas into the action on screen to make them feel part of the event itself
This 11 camera shoot was filmed live on the two sites with relays to huge LED screens and edited overnight for press in the morning. Really Creative Media liaised with broadcasters to give them technical feeds required for their shows, and we provided exclusive rushes on the night.
