The ephemeral nature of environmental phenomena is the fundamental reason for human appreciation of and apathy towards nature. Moments where individuals pause to reflect on micro-events occuring within natural systems serve as opportunities for discovery and meditation. Our belief is that if you capture and display normally obscured elements of a biological system it will lead to a greater understanding and appreciation for our environment.
The Rainwater Bubble Wall augments and demonstrates the natural process of rainwater collection and dispersal. As the levels of collected rainwater rise and fall the bubbles, which are dispersed over the surface of the wall, expand and contract. These bubbles would also serve as a reserve during excessively long periods of little or no rain. The bubble wall would be a manifestation of the temporal and physical processes of the exterior environment in the form of an interior micro-environment.
