I had been going back and forth for weeks about recording Skinny as a tribute to Eyedea. I know it's a very personal song to him, and there's even a youtube video floating around (shot by the very talented Mr. Dufuax) in which Mike states it's his favorite song he's ever written. So at the risk of touching the untouchable, I decided to go for it. This song means a lot to me in a much different way than I'm sure it meant to Micheal, but it felt good to unabashedly play guitar. I played in several bands growing up, but none of the material I've ever played hit me quite like this tune. I hope you can appreciate this one-off take for what it is: my tip of the cap to an old soul that impacted my life for the better, in every sense of the word.
