Jesus made a very unusual promise to His followers - which actually backs up the One Anothers. The promise was that... wherever two or three are gathered in my Name...
I will be there! This promise, surprisingly, wasn't related to finding comfort; it was related to finding power. We, as the gathered followers of Jesus, are called His Body. The Body of Christ. He is the Head - and as we engage in His Mission, serve Him, serve others - we are an extension of His power, grace and influence wherever we are. He meets us individually as we pray, listen, fast, and give - but He is somehow uniquely present when more than one person is present. So, these little gatherings of two, or three, or five... or ten are important, even if, for example, they are bicycling in His Name - or baking in His Name!
