Hikaru Kodama is a leading chainsaw artist in Japan who lives in Shimokawa, Hokkaido.
Using a chainsaw, Kodama carves out detailed sculptures of various woods.
Besides working for Shimokawa Forestry Union, he devotes his spare time to his artwork.
In recent years, he focuses on carving child, fairies and angels as his motif. Kodama says his 10-year-old son who has autism is a big source of inspiration for his sculptures.
