The 2008 Kenneth Arrow Lecture, titled “Helping Infant Economies Grow: Promoting Innovation and Learning in Developing Countries,” features Bruce Greenwald and Joseph Stiglitz. Invited discussants include Philippe Aghion and Robert Solow. Philippe Aghion is currently a professor of economics at Harvard University, and is known for his work on economic development and industrial organization. Robert Solow is an emeritus Institute Professor at MIT, and is both a National Medal of Science and Nobel Memorial Prize laureate. The lecture is chaired by President Lee Bollinger.
