London was very new to me when I made this film. I had just migrated from the slower life of Devon, England. The desire to explore the city was strong. I wanted to capture the things I found visually interesting with my camera. I seemed to focus a lot on buildings and the patterns they create. When editing the footage, I decided to keep it very minimal and pure. I wanted to leave shots running for longer than usual so the viewer can relax into observing the city.The viewer can stare at something with out worrying that someone will see that they are staring. I guess I just wanted to focus on the idea of being able to relax and concentrate and focus on some things that are visually familiar with us, yet we have not taken the time to respect and relax. Not that the I think the things I put in the film are important or non important, just the fact they are there, and in a way, all have an appealing aesthetic.
