De documentary series I worked on, De Slavernij, was well watched and got a lot of praise. But it also sparked a lot of debate. The history of slavery is a sensitive subject. And most, not all, of the sources were written by whites. So finding the right balance is always very difficult. As final chapter of the series we organized a debate in the Rode Hoed in Amsterdam. I made a report of the evening with Luc Wermers (in Dutch).
