On a trip, Sean Carasso stumbled upon a war camp in the Republic of Congo that kept former child soldiers as prisoners, and learned about the use of children too small to hold guns as human shields armed with only a whistle. He was able to convince the UN to pull the captive children out of the camp, but his work had only begun. Years later, Falling Whistles, named for the fallen children, has become a cultural phenomenon with support from a multitude of celebrities and activists. Produced in conjunction with Master Works, 2011.
