Shelton McCray of Praise & Deliverance Church in Bahama (Durham County) recounts the church's experience with financing a new building. The church, which nearly had a lien placed on the property when bank financing fell through, was able to complete the project thanks to a loan from Coastal FCU.

McCray has since recommended Coastal to other church groups in the area. She makes a passionate plea for the lifting of the cap on member business lending, currently set at 12.25% of assets.

Coastal FCU is bumping up against this cap, and has had to turn away some business loan applications as a result.
