In the summer of 2008, the Midwest was struck by one of the most severe natural disasters in history. Cedar Rapids was at the epicenter of this catastrophe, as 10 square blocks of the downtown was submerged. The damage was unthinkable, the fallout; devastating. A resilient community, Cedar Rapids was quick to respond and continue to this day to battle the challenges brought on by this disaster.
