Very educational thanks. How much did it cost you in the end?

All the details can be fount here - instructables.com/id/Build-and-Fly-a-Paramotor/

"I built the Frame, Harness, Throttle, Reserve Parachute deployment bag, and Fuel system in under two weeks of evenings and weekends while working a full-time job.
Excluding the engine, propellor, reserve parachute, and parglider (the stuff most people cant make themselves), the project cost under $200 USD. The things I didn't build range broadly based on new/used from $2000 - $5000+USD"

Very nice CAD rendering, which application did you use?
Never saw anyone make their own harness as well, you are multi-talented...

Thanks, The modeling was done in Rhino 3d. Its actually a pretty rough model, I just wanted to sketch out what I was planning and get some measurements - there is more info on it here if you are interested:
    instructables.com/id/Build-and-Fly-a-Paramotor/step6/Frame-Design/

The harness is actually quite simple once you break it down into its basic components - and so is most everything else on the setup - I made the deploy bag for the reserve and some other stuff for it too.

    Neat little video. Great job!
    What engine did you use??
  • Sky-Monkey 3 months ago
Thanks, The engine is a Vittorazi 185cc. two stroke.
One of my next projects is to come up with a cheaper alternative.

Ok, you are the man to answer this question. I am a P4 getting into the engine. You read about all this flattop, paratoys etc. I know is the indian and no the arrow, but what is the most important thing to look for?

If it is an option, I would find a local dealer/pilot who has a unit that you can actually try on and get a feel for before considering ordering anything. Depending on your height/weight/age you may want a heavier/more powerful or lighter/less powerful setup. As of yet, I haven't flown a perfect paramotor - each manufacturer has its pros and cons. I haven't yet flown a Kangook- but i do like the fact that their cage completely covers the prop- unlike the flat top and many others.
The two most important thing in my opinion are to find a unit that you feel comfortable controling, and that you can get replacement parts for should you have any troubles. If you would like to give me some more specifics about where you are located, age, weight, and height send me a private message and I will try to give you some more specific suggestions

Truly nice video, I did something similar but had not enough ambition to record each step plus.google.com/photos/105268437220295808258/albums/5641492717892655297?authkey=CJLjhoTn6LeWzgE
It's funny that I also used a Vitorazzi engine but a smaller one - the Fly 100 EVO

Excellent work - your frame looks very well thought out.
I have intentions to make a collapsible version, but currently I never have a need to disassemble mine.
    Thanks for the compliment.
Looks like from your license plate that your on the other side of the globe - I wish there were more people in the US that fly.
