Rocinha is the biggest favela in Rio de Janeiro and had been in the hands of drug dealers for over 30 years. It is now receiving a Police Pacification Unit and was occupied without a single shot being fired, thanks to a long process of rethinking the strategies for fighting the well armed traffickers in the city.
