Tenue de Nîmes won the prestigious 'ING Retail Jaarprijs' for Best Innovation in retail last night. Unlike any other retail price this 'Best Innovation' award is not handed out every year, but only when the jury really discovers something extraordinary. The 25 honorable men and women of the jury explained why they believe Tenue de Nîmes deserves this special award:
"Tenue de Nîmes shows how traditional retail laws can be applied to the challenges of the 'New World'. The gentlemen made a strong cross over between traditional and new media and their real life experiences. Tenue de Nîmes is a true heaven for 'jeans believers' from all over the world, whether they are from Amsterdam, Paris, Tokyo or New York. Tenue de Nîmes has a huge fan base thanks to their innovative new media efforts and stunning special editions with brands like Converse, Tellason and Grenson.……. According to the jury Tenue de Nîmes is a purposeful journey of young, curious and innovative entrepreneurs towards 'new shopping' in a 'new world' in which customers are fans and business is done well."
We can only say we are are speechless. The 25 members of the jury unite nearly a 1000 years of retail experience, so their opinion that Tenue de Nîmes is something remarkable makes us so incredibly proud. We dedicate this price to all of you who have been supporting and inspiring us from day 1.
