Yui and I visit a "State Fair" of sorts in Khon Kaen, Thailand on 1/31/09. Khon Kaen is in the heart of Thailand's mostly rural agricultural region know as Issan. Like the Ohio State Fair I'm most familiar with, this Thailand version has cows and chickens and lots of snack food, only Thai-style. I suspect that the roasted bugs sold as snacks are more nutritious than dumbo ears (and I think the Thais would be horrified to hear we eat elephant ears in Ohio - even if they aren't real).
