Daddy-Boy’s hometown newtok in the north of Alaska is literally sinking. Together with the US Army he is building America’s first climate-change refugee town, his future home. The cousins Binodini and Durga have already lost eight houses to the Indian Ocean. But now that their whole island is eroding, they will have to leave eventually. Zhou’s farmland in northern China has dried up and sandstorms poison the air. most of his neighbors have already left the village. But what will he do, now that the government forces them to stay and defy the desert?

"Vanishing Worlds" follows the journey of three families into an uncertain future as changing climates destroy their livelihoods forever. It’s the bottom up, real-life story of those at the forefront of a truly global disaster: A story about displacement and belonging, about anguish and human resilience.
