A chorus of breathing lungs. Stereoscopic video is mapped onto the lungs appearing to play within them. Stereoscopic video of the ocean in the background. Ocean video from Kitsilano beach in Vancouver, captured with a W3 camera. Cherry blossom video also from Vancouver and W3. Pelican videos from the Bow River near Calgary, shot with two Sanyo FH1 cameras side by side.
Sound was recorded at Oboro gallery in Montreal during an artist residency.
The piece is actually interactive and works with a Kinect camera. The chorus opens and closes in response to an opening and closing of the arms (distance between hands). The breathing volume is linked to how open the chorus is. If there are two viewers, one controls the chorus and the other controls the "i like it, i don't like it" soundtrack volume.
The lungs were modelled in Maya. The interactivity is programmed using Touch Designer.
