This was going to be a week off. Jordan and I are still recovering and making up work from our trip to Loretta Lynn's. But when a friend calls knocking on your front door, you answer. Lucas Comeaux did just that. Showing up in Plano for work, we met up afterwards for some beers and cheers. Lucas was nice enough to sit on the couch with me to discuss the LACC, the Off-Road Cup and the recent Red River Enduro. I did beat him in a beer chugging competition though.
The last round of the LACC was at DeSoto MX Park just south of Shreveport. Andy Bebee had the points lead, but Jason Harvey was ready to race to the checkers. Unfortunately Harvey hurt his ankle on practice Saturday and couldn't walk come Sunday. But being awesome, he saddled up and raced anyway to try and salvage some points. Cheyenne Harmon was the winner in the XC1 class, taking away yet another win on his Honda 450 CRF. Bryan Vaughn, who put in a good showing at the first round of the TORO Series, rode another strong race to finish second. While a young whipper snapper, Hutton Woods, rode his strongest race of the year finishing third overall.
With a conservative finish on Sunday, Andy Bebee wrapped up the 2011 LACC XC1 Championship. Jason Harvey, though barely walking, secured enough points to finish second in the championship and Jake Haddox finished third for the year. Ryan Breaux is the 2011 LACC XC2 Champion with Evan Shows and Jason Reine finishing second and third respectively. We look forward to more LACC racing next year and the Off-Road Cup on February 25th.
Back in Texas, we were attending the Red River TSCEC Enduro outside of Muenster, TX. I as well was doing the TORO Recon out in Thackerville, OK for Round 2 of the TORO season this coming weekend. To say the least, it was a busy weekend. For those that raced the long course, I scored you as you finished. And I must say, you looked beat down. Archie and the Red River Boys put together a hell of an Enduro and I was proud to mark your scorecards.
Cole Kirkpatrick took a commanding win at Red River, finishing 5 minutes ahead of second place Haydn Franklin. Zach Ingram, an Arkansas native, finished in third 3 minutes behind Frankllin. If you would like to catch a bit of the Long Course, check out our video of the 'A' Only Section. And thanks to Lucas, we wanted to give s shout out to the 200C Novice class for their achievements. So congrats to Andrew Piland, Aaron Carey and Adam Smith for finishing top 3 in 200 C.
Thanks for tuning in for this weeks episode. We look forward to the Endurocross Vegas Double Header Finale and to Round 2 of the TORO Series. Lots of fun to be had out there. Submit us your stories of awesome and we'll see ya next week with Cole Kirkpatrick as your couch guest. Remember, always be cool, stay in school and enjoy a Pint Full of Awesome.
