It's something different, on the close up shots of her face I notice quite a bit of lens distortion which is not very flattering, when shooting close portraits a sweet spot can be found between 85-135mm.

Very cool! I really like the color grading. How did you set that up in color? What did you use? I have Color but I have not really used it for too much yet. I can't seem to be able to preview it large enough to tell what it is going to look like after I finish and it takes a really long time to render a short clip. Any advice would be appreciated. I have an Ex1 and just bought the 5D M2! Also how did you light this? Did you add a vignette in post is it just the way you lit the background?
  •
  • Anna Thorbjörnsson plus 10 months ago
Hi Rogerio! Thanks for your comment :) The vignette is set on a black background with fixed quite low light. If you have a problem with your rendering and with the preview of color maybe it is a problem with your computer as it does take quite a lot of power to work with it.

Hi from Estonia, Anna. As I don't understand Swedish the mood the vid creates is more on the cynical and funny side for me. Like some dopey scene from a film festival comedy with an ultra good actress (in a truely positive way). Everyone can mirror themselves to this sort of reality and it is amusing I must admit.
I only wish to make movies with real people and characteristics that suit the story.

It looks amazing. I wonder if you could achieve the same result by using a Canon HD camcorder like HF11 or the new models HFS10, HFS100. I suppose the versatility of 5D is the changeable lens which small camcorders lack.

Very nice... I wondered if Canon's SX1 would have similar video traits as the 5D? I know they are world's apart from a camera perspective.

    Very nice. Perfect lighting.

This video adds to my theory that the Swedish make beautiful cinematography, and beautiful women.

thx, yes i used the 1,2 lens for all footage except when she is looking at herself in the mirror where I used the 24 - 105mm, f4 as the room was very bright.

very keen on the 85mm but probably I will settle for 1,8 or so as the 50mm gets me quite far.

Outside of it being extremely beautiful, I love the jarring cuts between the two scenes. You have this one surreal setting of her against the wall and then it cuts to a more realistic, almost doc type approach of her looking in the mirror. Great choices!
