STOP LOVE
This short piece was born from a few problems...
I wanted to play with stop motion techniques.
I needed to make or create something interesting for my ladyfriend for valentine's day.
I wanted to document our daily lives at our then current apartment since we would soon move.
Influenced by old stop motion videos on sesame street I used to watch as an 80's kid (especially the salt and pepper shakers and Teeny Little Super Guy), I decided to create a stop motion piece that illustrated a usual day at home. We both work from home quite a bit so the the piece highlights that aspect as well. It shows our then current apartment as well, so not only is it appropriate for Valentine's Day, but as a record of our lives and environment at the time.
I wanted to use the song Diagnosis by The Weakerthans, because the song is not only amazing, but fitting to the kind of stylistic cues I was going for, and the original video is similar in an odd way. (OG video: youtube.com/watch?v=4HKCerNP7lU)
The piece contains about 500 images. From conception to upload this piece took about 12 hours total.
The images are off color and some frames here and there are off, but I like it.
Enjoy!
