Psychomancy was a band from about 1990-1997. Jer and Jeff started writing songs when they got their instruments in 1987. Jer was 13, Jeff was 11, and Mike joined the band not even knowing how to play bass guitar. With a natural knac for playing music, coupled with sheer determination pumping through their veins, they learned how to play their instruments together, as a whole... as an organic Hardcore Metal Band with an edge that seemed to set the standard for the local band scene at that time. This may indeed be the very reason as to why Psychomancy always had that unique sound and original style that caused them to stand out and draw attention wherever they played a live show. Psychomancy never refused to play a party. As long as you helped them with gas and beer, they always put on one hell of a show. Psychomancy played in Bogarts Battle of The Bands from 92'-95'; they played at the first and only "Summer Sizzler Showcase" held at ANNIES. They produced a CD packed with 17, old and new, original Psychomancy songs. This was recorded in the Psychomancy Bandroom by the infamous George Forste/recording guru of I.D.G.F. Recordings. There are several "bandroom bootleg" recordings, possibly still in circulation, some soon to be showcased on this page. They also appeared on "Urban Disipline", a local t.v. show that supported local bands. They have headlined at Bogarts, Sudsy Malones, Top Cats, Annies, and they opened up for Sam Black Church, and Fear at The Southgate House. This page documents one of the rawest, most original Cincinnati local bands. Psychomancy will always be remembered for the music they left us, and all the good times, and good people united together because of Psychomancy.
