Torrey Pines is a well known hang gliding site, but it is difficult to fly there. The winds favor paragliders, which require softer, more prevalent winds found on "normal" days. Hang gliders not only need stronger winds, but higher ratings for their pilots to fly at Torrey. My personal opinion is that this is political, not based in true safety considerations.
Anyhow, I sprung for a lesson the other day and knocked out ten flights.
This video is of flights 5 through 10.
The landings took a little getting used to. The right hand approaches required a complete 180, if not more, and it took a few times before I felt comfortable doing a sharp buttonhook, especially in the rotor if I got too low.
It was fun day. The music is quirky, but they were the songs in my head that day. I make these videos primarily for myself, to remember the day. One of these days I'll encode a video with one of my daughter's favorite songs. "I like to move it, move it" is stuck in my head at the moment.
