The video was initially made to show how music, beat, connecting through a sensory-motor activity can be used to build on some communication fundamentals. In the first part of the video the adult follows the child, essentially imitating what the child does. The idea is to have the child exploring her own mode of expression and ability to create, and observe how her expression influences the other person. In the second part of the video the adult is initiating and the child is following. What is interesting about this is the stillness, attention and near perfect constant referencing the child makes to the adult. Whilst some might argue this indicates only minor signs if any of autism, I would, knowing the child somewhat argue that this is the reverse; the child is in a way too obedient and relying constantly on the adult to guide her own behavior This illustrates the stubble forms autism can take in girls. Underdiagnosis autism in girls is almost certainly real.
