A short story- Tale from real life. Contact Improvisation
I am who I say I am (Nov 2007)
"You gotta be who ya are,
cause if ya ain't what ya are,
ya are what ya ain't."

I like instantaneous expression, spontaneity, improvisation, be and see people be in the present, raw and untouched by various cultural influences. I like exploring broader means of expression and stretching the conscious and unconsciousness of our worlds. This is partly why I like so much be and interact with people with "disabilities", they tend to be much more able than neuro-typical individuals to be fully themselves.
Some parts of this video may be disturbing to watch, maybe because they show real emotional expressions which are usually buried or channeled. Acknowledging our emotions, being sadness, anger, happiness in the most un-diverted ways enable us more easily to continue to lead a balanced life and to integrate various life events. This is what I have tried to do here.
You may find yourself confused, it is intended, because everyone should be free to take what ever they want from a film, to interpret this in their own ways, I keep interpreting it msyelf.
Be comfortable with this confusion and indefiniteness. Not everything needs clarity and full understanding. The film is yours to become your own.
All there is to understand is that there are two women, originating from different countries, coming together with their own personalities and histories to express through movement and interaction with their environment some emotions, without fears or shame. The rest is yours to interpret.
People are used to have things served on a plate, ready to consume, ready to understand, ready to use. We become lazy when an effort is needed. I want people to make some effort; I want to challenge their perception, understanding, confusion, etc. I want them to think and respond, in any way, being dislike, or liking.
One can see many things in images, with time, they can mature but I am not interested in this maturity, I am not interested to edit over and over this footages. Because the essential need I had was to express something urgent. If I need to think more about this, this will not fulfill that need. And I am not looking for perfection, just expression. Besides, there are much technical constrains to this film, and a time constrain too, it is filmed fast and it is assembled fast, with limited computer power. I am not looking for refining this further at this stage of my life.
No, instead, I am almost certainly onto another project, because this is the way I am. And remember I am who I say I am.
