PATANG is the upcoming feature debut written and directed by Prashant Bhargava.

Ground glass lace thread, sharp enough to cut skin. One million kites fill the sky. Rich and poor, Hindu and Muslim, old and young, flood their rooftops to battle.

As speakers blast and fireworks sparkle, three stories unfold that explore the intimate dynamics of family, love and friendship.

PATANG is a feature length drama set during the jubilant atmosphere of India's largest kite festival.

PATANG was shot on location, with 90% non-actors, improvised based on script. Film was researched for 4 years prior to filming last January. Emphasis was placed on preserving the natural environment and capturing the joy and pride of the local community.

Award winning director Prashant Bhargava's short film Sangam premiered at Sundance Film Festival and was broadcast on Arte/ZDF, Sundance Channel and PBS. For the past fourteen years, he has been directing and designing commercials and promos for such clients as HBO, Accenture, Nokia, PBS and Volvo.
