Time lapse scenes were captured by Mark Ellis over the course of a year in northern Minnesota, on nights when the sky was mostly clear and very dark, with little to no moon present. Some of the best captures where on very cold nights, as low as -30°F (-35°C). Mark's website is markellis.com.

This video is a tribute to all four of Mark's grandparents. Time spent at each of their northern Minnesota lake homes while growing up, and the awe from the night sky and nature, was the inspiration for this project. Perhaps their souls were looking back from the stars during the miracle of these peaceful night sky photo captures.
