This piece was shot over the week of Summer Solstice of 1997 on The Shield route on El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. The dance troupe, Project Bandaloop, created the piece to honor the de-listing of the Peregrine Falcon off the Endangered Species List. Peregrine Falcons nest on El Capitan and several were seen during the project. The team, consisting of Choreographer/Dancer Amelia Rudolph, Rigger/Dancer Peter Mayfield, Dancers Heather Baer and Chris Clay, Rigger Steve Schnieder and Cameraman Greg Bernstein climbed the route from the bottom, without external support, over six days. Everyone on the team lead at least one pitch, with the riggers doing most of the leading. The performance was on the 4th day on The Shield headwall. Galen Rowell rappelled in from the top to photograph the performance. This piece was edited by Greg Bernstein at Range of Light studios and was originally aired as a segment of the "Climb!" series on the Outdoor Life Network.
