Pennsylvania legislators are currently rewriting the Oil and Gas Act dating from 1984. Gas industry has donated millions of dollars to the legislature since 2001 and nearly 2 million to Governor Corbett. Couple hundred citizens representing several non-profit organizations spent a day in Harrisburg last June lobbying these legislators.
“Politicians really understand two things: organized vote and organized money,” says Tom Hoffman from Clean Water Action.
