‘Peripetics or The installation of an irreversible axis on a dynamic timeline’

Zeitguised made a piece in six acts for the opening exhibition at the Zirkel Gallery. It entails six imaginations of disoriented systems that take a catastrophic turn, including the evolution of educational plant-body-machine models and liquid building materials.

Length: 5000F/ 3min 20s
Sound Design: Zeitguised with Michael Fakesch

This is the first thing I ever saw of yours (knowingly at least), and was EXTREMELY inspiring. I consider it a kind high mark.

I would be curious about some of the "nuts and bolts" of how you did this, but I don't really expect you to spill the beans either. It's just that I've looked at this so many times, and still feel like I'm guessing.

Here is a kind of making of video but I'm not sure it'll give you what you're looking for..

Mmm, just saw this! I'll check it out. I almost don't want to know! It's like when you learn how to play a Beatles song on guitar, and it loses the mystique. "Crap, it's only C, F, G...".

Remarkable imagery. Like the best abstract paintings, this convincingly takes you to unknown, possibly unsafe and utterly fascinating places. The breathing yellow heart is insane in it's sense of scale and it's accurate shadow rendering on the walls. Time passes quickly looking at your work.

I love this. I see a lot of videos on Vimeo that are just sort of like "weird shapes doing something" and everybody craps their pants even though it's just a glorified screensaver.

But these weird shapes REALLY ARE doing something. They have a motive, and depth, and a life. Well done.

I like the poppin' corn. Poignant sound design. I think "Incredible! You're an artist!" pretty much sums it up.

Great work! I enjoyed this very much, the 'Peripetics Ex Machina' even more so.

I think the sound design pulls this clip down a bit however; it feels materially unrelated to the sheer corporeality of the forms as they amass/yield/act. The acoustics also seem unrelated to the rooms depicted.
