This is the street kade (restaurant) where I often eat lunch. It's off Galle Road in 'downtown' Colombo but it's literally a squatter house. You walk down a narrow alley into Bath Amma's (rice mother) house. She serves you rice and chicken/pork/prawn and curries (breadfruit, beans salad, malum, dhal, etc). Then you sit down at their dining table (with all their family photos) and eat. The meal costs Rs 110, or about $1.20. She's quite nice and actually young and her little daughter is running around.
