Great photographic essay which relates a story that is now becoming commonplace, sadly, through out the world.

Really loved this. You found someone and let them tell their story. No dramatic deceit. No unnecessary flash. Just a man and his story. Well done.

I agree with Issac. My thoughts exactly.

We thought about this a lot but ultimately decided against it. Maybe we'll release another version though... Thanks for the input! After listening to it over and over, it's hard to tell how other people hear it.

Nice "slice of life" video, but frankly, wish the video quality and compositions would have been better.

I appreciate this guy's wanting his son to hate this work, and to go to college to be his own man. I'd probably hate the work too. (Crabs seem awfully small).

    Anyway, that's for posting.

  • Annie and Ethan, thank you for creating this compelling piece and drawing attention to the difficult issues that Chesapeake Bay watermen face today. Steve Jones has a lot of great points, especially about the negative impact of our growing population of 17 million people in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, which drains water from 64,000 square miles in six states and the District of Columbia. Our bay is the largest estuary in the United States and among the most ecologically productive on Earth, but it's under enormous pressure from human activity and climate change. We're fortunate to have some truly outstanding scientists, administrators, and volunteers working to bring the Chesapeake Bay back from the brink of an environmental catastrophe. I encourage everyone who reads this to visit chesapeakebay.net where you'll find a wealth of information about the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed, including work that's being done toward building an economic future for our iconic watermen.
