SpecE30 @ Infineon 2009-02-14
Valentine's day Spec E30 race at Infineon with NASA Norcal.
This was the season opener and we had 16 cars start (up from 7 at the 2008 season opener).
I had a good time mixing it up with MacKenzie from Socal. He's in a 318is and everyone else is in 325i's. The 318i gets to run lighter weight and a lower geared rear end to compensate for its smaller displacement motor.
The highlight for me was breaking below a 2:00 laptime on the last lap of the race. Unfortunately, it's not caught on tape because the camera ran out of battery 3 laps from the end.
I finished 7th, which turned into 5th when the first 2 cars were DQ'd for being underweight.
