The Falkland EMS received a business loan from Local Government FCU to purchase a new ambulance. The new vehicle replaced a 23-year-old ambulance, which broke down after an emergency call and had to be retired.
Falkland, which is a mostly volunteer EMS, is located in Pitt County. The EMS crew serves a 65 square mile radius and receives more than 700 calls per year.
