The river Teme 25 November 2011 at Dinham Weir, showing the very low flows on this river at present that are having a serious effect on migratory fish. The Environment Agency are dealing with the immediate problems and the Severn Rivers Trust is hoping to build fish passes here and elsewhere to mitigate against this in the future.
The Teme is also threatened by various hydro power schemes which may make this problem even worse if they get the go ahead. This video shows that these expensive schemes would not have the river flows even during the Autumn, let alone in summer when flows are even lower, to generate any worthwhile amounts of electricity.
