Lovely eye & edit, love the intercut day/night.

Particular thanks for the write-up at DSLR News Shooter (dslrnewsshooter.com/2011/11/30/documentary-shooter-pierre-deschamps-talks-about-his-work-and-using-the-new-canon-c300/). I've much more interest in these sorts of cameras for doc/small crew work than drama/cinematography, it's good to hear reports on how they shape up.

Thanks for posting. Did you shoot in Canon-log or use a picture profile (and if so, which one)?

    Thanks.
  • Hello Stephen, No I actually did not use the Canon-log the idea with this test was for me to find out what the camera gives you straight out of the box and try to make a shoot as neutral as possible. I will go into the Canon-log in the future. Thanks . Pierre

  • Looks really good, love the sharpness, without any of the plagued DSLR moire.

How did you do the timelapses?

These cameras are evolving rapidly and my eyes are not 20/20 any more. Auto focus and zoom are still the missing feature that is critical in my opinion. The battle for DOF is raging between video and dslr so I'm sure that in another year or two we will see a totally new concept introduced. My experience tells me to wait. In the old days we would find that perfect body and that perfect lense and the results would stand high above any out of the box rig. Film to print vs camera to codec's has given the media marketing industry a new way to take our money with many more $$$ included. We are chasing what the average human eye can't see and the ear can't hear. I am still convinced, what is more important is what's in front of our camera's and not the camera's themselves. If i had money to waste, yes I would buy one.
