Another short extract from my graduation student film entitled "A Life With Less Meaning."

I also think this is the first Student Film shot on the Red One in South Africa (we completed principle photography on the 21 October 2008).

Murray is a stationary supply salesman and is not a good one. His wife has divorced him, he has just been fired, he has no friends and his life seems to have to have lost all sense of purpose and meaning.

Things change when he befriends a total stranger by the name of Leonard.

The two develop a close friendship and it soon becomes clear to Murray that the answer to the dullness in his life is to confront his ex-wife.

man this is very very close,
one thig would be geat, you need a dolly in wide office shots,
    the look is awesome!
  • Hi there, thanks for the comments.

I chose not to use a dolly, I wanted the scene static.

    Regards.

I thought the dialogue was rather brilliant here - very funny without being too broad and undramatic. Acting was top notch as well. Funnily enough for me it was the editing that could use some work - I wonder if it wouldn't play better in longer takes - some of the cuts felt unmotivated, and as if you were cutting to stuff merely because you shot it and didn't want to waste the footage.

    Great work - very impressive.

Really nice looking, man. What lens did shoot this with?
  • The wide was a 14mm and the CU was the 85mm, both Zeiss.

Shot incredibly well. The acting was believable and flowed well. It was funny without having to go over the top... Great Work!
