For years, I've identified with this song, "Joseph's Lullaby". So many songs have been written about Mary - and rightly so, but I've always wondered about Joseph - Jesus' earthly father. Who was he? What kind of man was he? We know so little about him. Obviously, he was a man of tremendous faith and one of the most loyal people ever mentioned in the Bible. He stuck by Mary, despite the tremendous amount of "stigma" that came with being engaged to Mary. But as a father, what must it have been like to know your baby boys future? Knowing that he live a short life and would suffer and die for the sins of mankind. As a father, just the thought of anything happening to my little boy brings tears to my eyes. But what must have gone through Joseph's mind the night Jesus was born?
