Traffic in Frenetic HCMC, Vietnam
Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) is an amazing up and coming city. This time lapse is a culmination of 10,000 RAW images and multiple shoots capturing some of the cities relentless energy and pace of change.
Everyone who has visited Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam knows part of the magic (love it or hate it) is in the traffic. Ever since I first set foot in HCMC I have been captivated by the cities energy. Saigon is a city on the move unlike anything I have experienced before which I wanted to capture and share.
Thanks to everyone who helped with the film and thanks also to the numerous kind people who allowed me access to some amazing locations.

Note: i'm not sure talking about "10 000 raw images" makes sense, because at that point it's just a video work, only at (n)fps (and in that case, "n" = much less than the regular 24). No ?
Question: how can you achieve the smooth pan? do you use a special tripod, or is it post-produced?
(coming from The Daily What)
For any camera enthusiasts wanting to know how the zooms and pans were achieved in his time-lapse, Rob Whitworth says that the camera movements were all implemented during post-production using Adobe After Effects.
“I've played around with in-camera movements but they're limited and unsatisfying,” he adds. “The RAW footage from D-SLRs is very high resolution, which makes it possible to achieve zooms, crops and pans that wouldn't normally be possible in-camera.”
Great work, btw.
Cheers.
From a Saigonese.
The main problem we're getting is the artefacts that come into play on moving parts of the frame (predominately people) when processing the images for HDR. This is probably due to the interval in time between each bracketed exposure in camera.
Are you shooting single RAW frames then processing each frame at different exposures?
